# MaxVRS > MaxVRS is an expandable polyphonic synthesizer by Vault84Lab, created by Peter Hradecký, a songwriter and producer making music as district sun. MaxVRS is free during beta and supports VST3 and AU plugin formats, with installers for macOS and Windows. The download page is the source of truth for currently available platform releases; availability and versions can change independently of the website. The instrument offers up to 32 voices, up to three layered groups with six oscillators per group, and six source engines: Wave Factory, Harmonic Cloud, Noise, Wavetable, Sample, and Piano.
